Last Day of Work

Yesterday was my last day of work for about a year. I’m not going to lie…. felt pretty good to type that. Now, I’m sure there will be a lot of “work” to do while we’re volunteering in Africa and our “job” in Thailand will be teaching English, but who are we kidding… we’re taking a year-long honeymoon (felt pretty good to type that too).

I woke up yesterday and it kind of felt like the last day of school. A small part of me was sad to be leaving the people I had worked with for the past three and a half years, but mostly I was excited about what lay ahead. Once I got to work though it didn’t feel like the last day of school at all. Everyone else was really busy doing their normal thing. It was almost like I was escaping. I packed my office, said my goodbyes, and walked out of the building I’ve been going to every day since I graduated from college. Erin and I celebrated the way we celebrate most things… beers!!

I’ll be spending the next two weeks getting my clothes and other essentials ready to pack, knocking out whatever wedding tasks Erin delegates my way, and trying to hang out with everyone as much as possible. There will also probably be a lot of me bragging about not working to Erin (she has one week left).

Don’t know how many posts I’ll put up here between now and the wedding. Not because I’m lazy, but because when you don’t have a job for two weeks not a lot blog-worthy material presents itself. That, and I don’t really want this thing to become one of those “OMG Can you believe Sammi and Ronnie just said that to each other?!?!” type of blogs. Oh… and I’m pretty lazy.
